Marshall Allen Warren, 75, of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by his family. Although he fought a courageous battle with pulmonary arterial hypertension over the past nine years, Marshall’s faith and positive outlook on life never waned.
Marshall was born March 10, 1943 in Newton Grove, NC. He graduated from Pembroke State University. He worked in accounting for North Carolina Natural Gas for 33 years. He was a longtime member and deacon at Village Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Annie Laura Warren, brother; James Blake Warren, and sisters; Marie W. Austin and Linda W. Best.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sue T. Warren; and two devoted sons and daughter in laws, Ross Warren and wife, Adriana of Morrisville and Scott Warren and wife Jennifer of Wilmington and the very special loves of his life, his grandchildren, Nic, Nina, Parks and Landyn Warren. He is also survived by his sisters, Joanne W. Fields and husband Cecil of Newton Grove and Laura W. Lee of Wilmington.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28 in the Commons Area of Village Baptist Church, 906 McPherson Church Road, Fayetteville, NC 28303. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Family Life Center at the church. The burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hwy 701 South, one mile south of Newton Grove. Officiating the service will be Dr. Bruce Martin.
