Julia "Sue" Thornton, 78, of Dunn passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Thornton's funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at 3:00 pm at Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Dunn, NC. The Rev. Allison Lancaster will be officiating the service. Mrs. Thornton will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at the church from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Ms. Sue leaves to cherish her memory daughter Christy Hall and husband Clint of Fayetteville, N.C. Grandchildren Brock Thornton, Thomas, Max and Sawyer. Also left to cherish her memories are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry W. and Beatrice Brock, husband, Julian "J.L." Thornton.
