Christina "Christie" (White) Schatz

Christina "Christie" White Schatz died February 2, 2019, at Vidant Medical Center Pallative Care Unit in Greenville, N.C., after a long illness. Christie was born June 23, 1953, to the late Carl Benton White, Sr., and Mildred B. Gregory; she was 65 years old. 

Christie graduated from South Johnston High School in 1971 and attended Wake Tech; after graduating from Wake Tech she went to work for Dr. Jordan in Smithfield for a short period of time and then moved to Williamston, N.C., to pursue her career in the medical field of Phlebotomy. 

Christie is preceded in death by her father, Carl Benton White, Sr., and her brother, Carl Benton White, Jr. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Mildred B. Gregory and Walter A. Gregory of Hope MIlls, N.C.: two brothers, Carter Stanley White of Hope Mills and Clark Andrew White and wife Margaret of Four Oaks; one sister, Carla White Beasley of Benson; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held March 19, 2019 beginning at 6 p.m. with visitation to follow. Officiating will be the Rev. Kim Strickland.
